About Katie

Katie’s practice focuses on the representation of regional, state, and community banks, community development lenders including CDFIs, and other financial institutions in the areas of real estate, commercial real estate finance, and community development. Her experience ranges from traditional acquisition and development transactions to mission-based financings, including those involving low-income housing and charter schools. She also handles foreclosure sales for lenders.

In addition to lender representation, Katie also advises borrowers on various real estate and financing matters and understands the importance of balancing the business and legal interests of all parties to a transaction.

Prior to joining Macdonald + Macdonald in 2017, Katie served as a law clerk for the Honorable Mary Ellen Barbera, former Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals of Maryland. Katie graduated, summa cum laude, from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 2016. During law school, Katie served as a Production Editor for the University of Baltimore Law Review and was a member of the Saul Lefkowitz Brand Names Moot Court Competition Team. She received her bachelor’s degree from Elon University in 2013.

Katie is admitted to practice in Maryland and the District of Columbia and was named a Rising Star in the Maryland Super Lawyers 2021 and 2022 Editions.
